Trademark Guidelines
Rules for proper usage in media, user reviews, describing apps or products
When using any of JumpCloud’s trademarks, you must follow our “Usage Rules” below.
If JumpCloud provides written requirements (size, typeface, colors, etc.) at the time of our approval, you must implement them before using our trademarks. If JumpCloud provides these requirements to you after we initially gave our permission, you must implement them within a commercially reasonable timeframe.
JumpCloud trademark Do’s:
- Distinguish the trademark from the surrounding text in some way. Capitalize the first letter, capitalize or italicize the entire mark, place the mark in quotes, use a different type style or font for the mark than for the generic name.
- Spell and capitalize the trademarks exactly as they are shown in the JumpCloud Registered Trademarks
- Use the trademark only as an adjective, never as a noun or verb, and never in the plural or possessive form.
- Use the generic term for the product following the trademark, for example: JumpCloud directory; JumpCloud user portal; JumpCloud identity control
- Use only JumpCloud-approved artwork when using JumpCloud’s logos.
JumpCloud trademark Don’ts:
- Don’t remove, distort or alter any element of a JumpCloud trademark. That includes modifying a JumpCloud trademark, for example, through hyphenation, combination or abbreviation, such as: Jump-Crowd, JumpyCloud, JumpCloudasaurasrex. Do not shorten, abbreviate, or create acronyms out of JumpCloud trademarks.
- Don’t display a JumpCloud trademark more prominently than your own brand or company name on your web page.
- Don’t display a JumpCloud trademark in any manner that implies a relationship or affiliation with, sponsorship, or endorsement by JumpCloud.
- Don’t display a JumpCloud trademark on any website that contains or displays adult content, promotes gambling, involves the sale of tobacco or alcohol to persons under twenty-one years of age, or otherwise violates applicable law.
- Don’t display a JumpCloud trademark in a manner that is misleading, unfair, defamatory, infringing, libelous, disparaging, obscene or otherwise objectionable.
- Don’t display a JumpCloud trademark on a site that violates any law or regulation.
- Don’t incorporate JumpCloud trademarks into your own product name, service names, trademarks, logos, or company names.
- Don’t copy or imitate JumpCloud’s trade dress, including the look and feel of JumpCloud web design properties or JumpCloud brand packaging, distinctive color combinations, typography, graphic designs, product icons, or imagery associated with JumpCloud.
- Don’t adopt marks, logos, slogans, or designs that are confusingly similar to JumpCloud’s trademarks.
- Don’t use or register JumpCloud trademarks as or incorporated in social media account names, profiles, or monikers.
- Don’t register JumpCloud trademarks as second or third level domain names.
- Don’t use JumpCloud trademarks in a way that suggests a common, descriptive, or generic meaning.
- Don’t use the registration symbol (®) in connection with marks in countries where JumpCloud marks have not been registered. Trademark rights vary from country to country.
Sponsorships
If you have a sponsorship deal, follow the process and guidelines below.
JumpCloud Sponsorship Do’s:
- Be specific. Be clear and precise about JumpCloud’s involvement with your organization or event.
- Use helpful language. Use language such as “sponsored by,” or “supported by,” when referring to JumpCloud’s role.
- Be accurate. Only reference JumpCloud for the specific purpose and time period in which the sponsorship is active.
- Use the approved logo. Use only the approved, unmodified logo that is provided to you. Match the size of other sponsor logos and follow clear space rules.
JumpCloud Sponsorship Don’t’s:
- Don’t exaggerate. Don’t overstate JumpCloud’s role or your relationship with JumpCloud.
- Don’t claim we’re partners. Don’t use words such as “partner,” “partnership,” or “endorsed by” when referring to your relationship with JumpCloud.
- Don’t list past sponsorships. Don’t reference JumpCloud outside the context of the engagement purpose or period, such as on a list of “past sponsors” or in materials unrelated to the sponsorship.
- Don’t modify the JumpCloud logo. Don’t modify, distort, or add additional elements to the logo.
- Don’t use JumpCloud trademarks on any tangible goods or packaging, including any promotional, marketing, swag, or other items.
Attribution
If using any of our trademarks, such as names, icons, or screenshots of JumpCloud products, include a legal attribution line where applicable: [Product name] is a trademark of JumpCloud Inc.
