JumpCloud Agent Release Notes for October 20, 2026

New Agent release (version 2.196.3)

note

Agent releases are rolled out over the course of the week. You may not see these changes right away.

macOS and Windows

Enhancements

  • Improved keyboard and screen-reader navigation in the Self Service App Catalog in the JumpCloud macOS Menu Bar App and JumpCloud Windows Tray App, including shortcuts, focus order, and announcements.
  • Updated multi-factor authentication (MFA) field labels in both apps to clarify TOTP guidance.

macOS and Linux

Fixes

  • Updated Device Trust certificate validation to accept both JumpCloud and Jumpcloud in intermediate and root certificate authority common names.

macOS

Fixes

  • Reduced unnecessary JumpCloud Go re-registration prompts on managed devices after temporary network errors at login or unlock. Registration refresh retries up to five times, including if a user unlocks during a retry.

Windows

Enhancements

  • Updated the agent to support upcoming user-scoped policies and Active Directory domain migration.

Fixes

  • Resolved sign-in delays of several minutes after password entry on Entra ID–joined, Intune-managed devices. Also improved Entra ID user tile visibility after startup and connectivity changes.
  • Reduced duplicate per-user registration by treating only interactive Windows sign-ins as login events. Network, batch, service, and duplicate Security logon events are filtered out.
  • Clarified authentication errors for Google Workspace users whose first login through Self-Service Account Provisioning fails because of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) or connectivity issues. These failures no longer display an incorrect user name or password error.
