Configure Lucid for the AI Gateway
To allow your users to securely search, retrieve, and update Lucid documents using their AI clients, you can configure the Lucid Model Context Protocol (MCP) server within the JumpCloud AI Gateway.
Prerequisites
- Before configuring specific enterprise applications, we recommend reviewing the Get Started: AI Gateway guide to familiarize yourself with the gateway architecture and core AI concepts (such as MCP servers and AI clients).
Completing Application Setup
Before you can connect this server to the AI Gateway, you must determine your authentication method. Refer to Lucid’s Integrate Lucid with AI tools using the Lucid MCP server to learn more.
- OAuth: Lucid’s MCP server supports OAuth Dynamic Client Registration (DCR), so no app creation or additional configuration is required to connect it to the AI Gateway.
- API Token: Team and Enterprise admins can generate a Lucid API key for users who authenticate with API Token in JumpCloud.
Lucid MCP is available on Free, Individual, Team, and Enterprise plans. It is not available on FedRAMP accounts.
Configuring the Server in JumpCloud
See Adding MCP Servers in Configure AI Gateway Integrations and use the following values to configure this server:
- App: Select Lucid (if you have an existing SSO application or bookmark), or + Add App to create it
- Name: Enter a name, for example Lucid
- Prefix: Enter a value to prepend to MCP tool names
- Note: Prefixes must be unique. Maximum 8 characters, letters and numbers only
- URL:
https://mcp.lucid.app/mcp - MCP Authentication method: Select OAuth or API Token, then complete the corresponding fields that appear:
- OAuth: Under Advanced fields, no additional configuration is required.
- API Token: In the App API documentation link field, enter
https://developer.lucid.co/docs/api-keys
Your users will now see Lucid listed as an available application when they authenticate their AI clients through the JumpCloud AI Gateway. If you selected API Token authentication, users can click the documentation link you provided to learn how to create a Lucid API key.
